Tellen's Place Wednesday Challenge - A Sketch

Happy Wednesday!  Welcome to another challenge from Tellen's Place.  First of all, I want to say thank you to those who participated in last week's blog hop and for your sweet comments!  Wasn't that blog hop fun?  There is more to come so stay tuned. :)

On to this week's challenge.  This week's challenge is to create something using the sketch below:

This sketch is one of the sketch's Terry has in her wonderful card kits.  You may interpret the sketch any way you like.  Just be sure to incorporate all of the elements in the sketch.

To participate and be entered in the drawing for images, you must use a Tellen's Design image.  If you don't have one, there is a freebie available this week that you can grab from the challenge blog.  Be sure to link your entry to Mr. Linky in the challenge blog.  While you are at the challenge blog, be sure to stop by the store to see the latest images, card kits, and album kits available for purchase.

Here is my card using the sketch:

I really love making easel cards.  The sketch was perfect for the easel card.  If you have never made one before, Splitcoast Stampers has a wonderful tutorial on how to make one.  Click here for the tutorial.

Pink and green cardstock is from Bazzil.  The designer paper is from Three Bugs In A Rug.  The green ribbon is from May Arts.  I used my Martha Stewart punch for the border.  Button is from Basic Grey.  Pink twine is from May Arts.  Pearls are from my stash.  Sentiment is from Hero Arts.

I cut Jessica, using my Nestabilities petite small oval die cut.  Background was cut, using the Nestabilities petitie small oval scallop die cut.

Jessica was colored using the following Copic colors:

E00, R20, Y15, Y17, RV32, RV34, RV02, B23, E35, E39, W1

Thanks for stopping by and have a good week!

Tellen's Place Blog Hoppity Hop Hop!

Are you ready to hop on down the bunny trail? Of course you are - that's why you're here - to get this "hop" started! So let's begin...

The Tellen's Place Divas have been hard at work, designing projects for the new images that you will also see posted on the Tellen's Place Designs store on Friday. These are special images for Easter and will be available for purchase until April 10th. You will find Edward and Ally all ready for this special day along with Jessica and a few other friends as they color their eggs and find them later.

Here is my card, introducing Easter Sophie:

Orange and pink cardstock is from Bazzil.  The designer paper is new from Pebbles.  I used my Martha Stewart scallop punch for the border and added some pink woven and felt ribbon from May Arts.  The buttons are from Basic Grey and the twine is also from May Arts.  The pink pearls are from my stash.

Easter Sophie was cut, using my Nestabilities petitie oval and oval scallop die cuts, decorated with my Sakura glitter pen and colored with the following Copic colors:

E35, E37, Y15, Y17, E00, R20, and W1

Our blog hop starts today (3/24) and will end on 3/26. One winner will have a choice of five of the TP images used by the designers for this special blog hop. There will be more than five images to choose from. How cool is that? Oh...I almost forgot to tell you - we have another fun part of this blog hop - a scavenger hunt! That's right - on each designer's blog, there is a secret highlighted word and you'll only need to remember each designer's word from her blog and send an e-mail to Terry (terry@tellensplacedesigns.com) with the correct word for each person. You know what, the winner will get a prize (see Tellen's Place for a picture of this grand prize).

So, two things to remember: (1) a prize to the winner just for hopping and leaving a comment on each blog, including Tellen's Place and (2) compile a list of the correct words you find highlighted on each designer's blog and e-mail that list to Terry to win a fabulous prize.

Now, if you arrived here from Tellen's Place, then you are on the right track. If not, please go back to Tellen's Place - that way you won't miss any of the scavenger hunt words or a chance for that second prize! To help you, here's the order of the blog hop:

Tellen's Place
Alicia
Mia
Joyce
Lyn
Robin
Pam
Terry

If you liked Easter Sophie in her Easter DRESS as much as I do, be sure to stop by Tellen's Place store to purchase her and check out the rest of the Easter images that will be available.

Now head on over to Mia's blog to see what she has in store!

Thanks for stopping by!

Take What Is Old And Make It New!

This week's La-La Land Crafts Challenge is all about recycling!  Make something out of materials you have.  When I saw this challenge, I knew I wanted to try a project that I have been saving the main component to use.

Here is my entry.  Can you guess what I used?

Give up?  Can you believe I made a mini book out of a coffee sleeve?  That's right!  All the months I have been going to Starbucks and ordering my usual chai tea latte, I never would have thought the one thing to protect my hand from getting burned can turn into something I could use for showing photos, journaling, just about anything!

There are many tutorials out there how to make this mini book, but this tutorial from Fiskars is pretty good.  Click here to see the tutorial.

The image is Easter Maya, another new digi image that is from La-La Land Crafts' new Easter collection.  I colored Maya with the following Copic colors:

E35, YR04, Y15, Y17, RV06, G02, R20 and the colorless blender

Maya's background are flowers from newspaper that I punched with my Marvy Uchida punch.  The ribbon, flowers, brads, and green staples are from my old stash of supplies.

I really liked how my book came out that I think I will do one for my co-worker as a gift for her birthday. :)

Thanks for stopping by!

E37, RV32, C5, and YG63

I also added in some glitter with my Sakura glitter pen.

I used my Martha Stewart border punch for the bottom of the card.  The twine and ribbon are from May Arts.  The buttons are from Basic Grey.  The pearls are from my stash.

Tellen's Designs Weekly Wednesday Challenge - Spring Is In The Air!

It is Wednesday and time again for another challenge from Tellen's Place!  This week's challenge is all about spring!  Bring out anything you have that has to do with spring - flowers, bright colors, whatever you choose!  For details on this week's challenge, head on over to the challenge blog, where you will also find this week's freebie - Bike Ride Jessica!

Here is my card:

To go along with the "spring" theme, I wanted to do a different card layout and found a tutorial called a spring card on Splitcoast Stampers.  Check out the tutorial here!  What I love about the card is that it takes one piece of 8.5" x 11" paper!  When folded flat, the card can fit into a 5.5" envelope to mail.

Designer paper is from My Mind's Eye.  The buttons are leftovers from my stash.  The brown twine is from May Arts. Bug Catcher Joey was 3D pop-dotted and colored with the following Copic colors:

E00, E35, Y17, G94, R20 and W3

Be sure to visit Tellen's Place store and check out the other images available.  There are wonderful kits available as well for purchase this month!

A Spring In My Step

After battling stomach flu all weekend, it was great to get back into doing my paper crafts.  One of the challenges I wanted to do is from La-La Land Crafts.  This week's challenge is to use pastel colors in your entry. I was excited to use their new digi images from their new Easter collection that having the stomach flu wasn't going to stop me from participating!

Below is my card for the challenge:

The pink cardstock is from Bazzil.  The designer paper is from My Mind's Eye. I used my emery board to rough up the edges of the designer paper.

I used La-La Land Craft's Easter Bunny image for the card and colored the bunny with the following Copic colors:

YR0000, V0000, YG0000, R20 and W00

The sentiment is from Hero Arts, inked with Versa Color petal pink ink.  The sentiment was cut using my Nestabilities petitie scallop oval.  I added some sparkle with my Sakura glitter pen.The ribbon is from May Arts.  The pink butterfly is from Prima.

I Can't Wait For Spring!

This week's Penny Black Saturday challenge is to make an easel card.  You can use whatever Penny Black stamps/sentiments you want, any colors you want.

I can't wait for spring!  Probably why the card I made for the challenge has a spring theme to it. :)

Here is my card for the challenge:

The red and beige cardstock is from Bazzil.  The designer paper is from My Mind's Eye Quite Contrary collection, my favorite DP!  I chose Penny Black's Toadily collection and colored the cute frog with the following Copic colors:

Y13, Y17 (flower), G94 (frog) and the colorless blender.

For the background, I sponged on some ink from Memento - Dandelion.  The red background was cut, using my Nestabilities petite oval scallop die-cut.  I used my Martha Stewart punch for the border on the front and inside of the card.

The sentiment is also from Penny Black, inked with Memento ladybug ink and cut, using my Nestabilities small circle and small scallop circle die-cuts.

The corners were cut using my Cuttlebug die-cut.  The red gems are from my stash. The felt red and yellow flowers were picked up from my local scrapbook store.

Thanks for stopping by!

Robyn's Fetish Saturday Challenge - Technique Challenge

It's Saturday and time again for another fun challenge from Robyn's Fetish.  This week's challenge is a technique challenge: anything but a card.

To enter the challenge, create whatever paper craft you like except for a greeting card.  You can use any image you like, but if you have any Robyn's Fetish images or hybrid stickers, show them some love.  If you do use any Robyn's Fetish images, you will be entered into the drawing TWICE this week to win your choice of three Robyn's Fetish images.  Challenge runs from today until Friday, March 12th at 12pm EST. Post a link to your creation here at the challenge blog.

I took a class last year on how to make a matchbox with four drawers and an easel card on top.  I wanted to try to make the same thing, smaller with only one drawer to have for my cousin's birthday. After searching high and low for instructions, I finally was able to make the box.  And the great thing is that it only took one 12x12 sheet of cardstock to make the box.

I present to you: matchbox with easel card:

Click here for the instructions on how to make this fun box.  You will need to scroll down almost to the bottom of the posting.  It's a long one but the directions are short and simple.

Cardstock is from Bazzil.  The designer paper is new from My Mind's Eye Quite Contrary collection.  I love the beautiful colors the paper had, that I bought 2 sheets of each pattern of the collection.  I used Robyn's Fetish image balloons and colored them with the following Copic colors:

R37, Y17 and B12

I also added in some sparkle with my At You Spica pens lipstick, baby blue and orange.

I cut the balloons and Hero Arts sentiment with my Nestabilities petite oval and petite oval scallop die-cuts. The sentiment was inked using Versa Color cardinal ink.  The yellow gems are from Hero Arts as well.  The drawer handle I picked up at my local craft store.

Stop by and see my Design Team's creations as well:

If you haven't checked out the forum, please do!  There are challenges and lots of paper craft discussions going on right now.  Be sure to check out the store for the digi stamps and hybrid stickers.  They are so beautiful.

Thanks for stopping by!
