Something Simple, Something Sweet

To see details for this week's Robyn's Fetish Super Saturday Challenge, click here.

This week's La-La Land's Weekly Wednesday Challenge is to create a gift card holder. There are so many different interpretations of a gift card holder.  I wanted to make something simple so that I can just throw one together when the occasion calls for it.  After researching through the Internet, I found this tutorial from Tori Wild (Wild Sprinkles) that is very simple and fun to make.

Below is my entry:

Front of card holder

The pink cardstock is from Bazzil.  The double-sided designer paper is from My Mind's Eye Abbey Road collection.  The cute girl on the "belly band" is Window LaLa, colored with the following Copic colors:

E00, E33, E35, R20, RV32, G94, W1

The "belly band" was punched with my Martha Stewart scallop punch.

The sentiment is from Hero Arts and was stamped first with Versa Color Petal Pink ink and then I went over the sentiment with At You Spica blossom pen.

Inside of card holder

I used the same designer paper as the front of the card.  I added some pink woven ribbon from May Arts to the left side of the card.  The buttons are from Basic Grey and the pink twine is from May Arts.

The sentiment is from Hero Arts and was inked again with Versa Color Petal pink and cut using my Nestabilities small circle and circle scallop.  I also added some sparkle to the sentiment with my Sakura glitter pen.

Robyn's Super Saturday Challenge - Swing Card Technique

It's Saturday and its time once again for Robyn's Super Saturday Challenge.  This week's challenge is to use a technique.  The technique to use is a swing card.  This was a fun challenge to do.  There are many tutorials out there on how to make a swing card.  Here are two of them that are really good:

Splitcoast Stampers - Swing Card

Michelle's Rubber Room - Swing Card (great video and measurement template)

You may use any image that you like, but if you have any Robyn's Fetish (RF) images, show them some love!  Also, if you use any RF images, you will be entered into the drawing TWICE for a chance to win three RF images!

Deadline to enter your creation is Friday, February 5th at 12pm EST.  Click here to go to the challenge blog for more details and to enter.

Below is my swing card:

Front of card

The brown and yellow cardstock is from Bazzil.  The designer paper is from Basic Grey's Origins collection.  I used my Amuse paisley stamp, inked with Encore! Metalic Honeydew ink.  The yellow and brown drops are from The Robin's Nest.  The RF image I used is bee with flower. I colored the bee and flower with Copic colors Y13, Y15 and E37.  I also added some bling with a gemstone on the flower from Hero Arts. I distressed the image's edges with Memento Dark Cocoa ink.

Back of card

The sentiment is from Amuse, inked with Memento Bamboo Leaves ink.  I cut the sentiment with my Nestabilities petite and petite scallop oval die-cuts.

If you like the bee with flower image as much as I do, take advantage of the sale Robyn's Fetish is having through this Sunday the 31st.  30% off all the images!  Check out the store for the bee with flower image and the other wonderful images Robyn's Fetish has to offer.

A Touch of Pink, Brown and Beige

Pink, brown and beige are three of my favorite colors.  So when I saw the Copic Colour Challenge colors for this week, I was thrilled and couldn't wait to make my card!

Below are the Copic Colour Challenge colors for this week:

And here is Mojo Monday's sketch to use - either a circle or a square.  Or if I had more time, I would have done both. :)

I love the sketch!  Such a simple, but elegant design. :)

Below is my card:

The pink and brown cardstock are from Bazzil.  The designer paper and buttons are from Basic Grey.  The red and pink ribbon is from May Arts.  The gold ribbon is from my stash.

The image is from Penny Black's Piece of My Heart collection, cut using my Nestabilities Labels die-cuts.  The image was colored with the following Copic colors:

E00, E33 (CCC challenge colors), R20, R85 and the colorless blender

I also added some bling to the cupcake box and tops of the cupcakes with Stickles fruit punch glitter glue.  The ribbon was decorated with The Robin's Nest Dew Drops.

Robyn's Fetish Wacky Wednesday Freebie

It's Wednesday and it's Robyn's Fetish Wacky Wednesday!  I am excited to show you the freebie for today as I had a lot of fun creating my card with it.

Here is today's freebie image:

Is the puppy the cutest you have ever seen?  To get the freebie image, click here to go to the challenge blog.  Also, Robyn's Fetish is having a 30% off sale starting today through this Sunday the 31st on all of Robyn's images, including Digi Kitty, who just came on board.  All of the images are beautiful, so be sure you stop by the store!

Without further ado, here is the card I made with the puppy image:

I made this card for my husband for Valentine's Day.  When I saw the image that was going to be given away for Wednesday, I knew I had to make a Valentine's Day card.

The red and cream cardstock is from Bazzil.  The designer paper is from Making Memories Love Notes collection (double-sided).

I cut the image of the puppy, using my Nestabilities large and scallop rectangle die-cuts.  I colored the puppy, using the following Copic colors:

R37, E35, E21, E02 with some gold glitter from my At You Spica pen.

The tag was made using my Cricut machine with the Sweethearts cartridge.  The stamped "love" image was from a Stampin Up! stamp set called Word Play that I got at a used stamp sale at my crafts store.  The "love" image was stamped using Memento Lady Bug ink.  The twine tied on top of the tag is from my stash. The photo corners were cut using my EK Success punch.

Fancy Folds

This week's La-La Land's Weekly Wednesday challenge is to create a fancy fold card.  Something that is different from the normal one-fold card.  This was a great challenge, since I am working on my fancy fold card for my design team at Robyn's Fetish.  After looking at the choices available, I decided to go with the triangle trifold card from Splitcoast Stampers.  Click here to see the tutorial.  Below is my entry:

Robyn's Fetish Saturday Challenge - A Recipe

Whoo hoo it's Saturday and its time for Robyn's Fetish Saturday Challenge! This is my first Saturday Challenge for Robyn's Fetish as one of the new design team members! Check out the Wacky Wednesday challenge from this week that I did here.

This week’s Robyn’s Fetish Saturday Challenge is a recipe. I love recipes! Always fun to see what can be done with a few simple things...or something that you have never used before in a creation! Here is the recipe to follow:

2 patterned papers
2 different colors of cardstock
2 ribbons
2 types of sparkle (anything goes from glimmer spray, glitter, bling, etc.)
2 buttons

You can use any image of your choosing, but if you currently own some Robyn's Fetish (RF) images, show them some love.  PLUS if you do use any RF images,  you will be entered into the random drawing TWICE to win!

The winner will receive SIX RF images of your choosing! Check out the shop to see all the designs currently being offered.

Deadline to submit your entry to the challenge blog is Friday, January 29th at 12pm EST and the winner will be announced before next week's new challenge. Please leave a link to your creation in the comments section to be entered to win.

For this challenge, I used the original cupcake image. Reminds me of my friend's daughter's birthday party last month with her whole theme being cupcakes!

Front of card:

The pink and green cardstock are from Bazzil. The designer papers are from My Mind's Eye Abbey Road collection. I used my Martha Stewart scallop punch to make an accent border for the bottom of the card. The gold ribbon is from my stash from last Christmas. The green ribbon is from May Arts. The pink and green buttons are from Basic Grey. The pink and green "bling" squares are from Mark Richards. The photo corners were punched with my EK Success punch.

The cupcake was cut using my Nestabilities large circle and circle scallop with some bling using my Sakura glitter pen. The cupcake was colored with the following Copic colors:

RV13, YG03, E35, and the colorless blender

I tried Stickles fruit punch for the stripes of the candle and eucalyptus for the sprinkles. I liked how they turned out. :) I used my At You Spica gold pen for the candlelight.

 Inside of card:

For the inside of the card, I used the same cardstock and designer paper as the front of the card. I used my Nestabilities petitie oval scallop and petitie oval for the sentiment with my Sakura glitter pen. The sentiment is from Hero Arts, inked with Versa Color Petal Pink.

Also, check out my team's creations and leave some love for them!

Penny Black Saturday Challenge - Blue, Cream and Gold

This week's Penny Black Saturday Challenge is using a color combo: blue, cream and gold. I just bought a new Penny Black stamp and was excited to use it for this challenge.

I went with a CAS (clean and simple) design for this challenge. And I also did not use a single Copic marker, which was kind of nice to take a break from.  Below is my card:

The cream cardstock is from Bazzil.  The designer paper (double-sided) is from cratepaper. The image is PB's mid summer, cut with my Nestabilities Label die-cut.  The image was inked with Tsukineko Encore Honeydew ink and sponged over with Versa Color sand beige ink..  I used my Martha Stewart's scallop punch for the blue border. The ribbon is from May Arts.  The photo corners were punched with my EK Success punch.  The stick-on pearls are from my stash.

Robyn's Fetish - Wacky Wednesday

I am excited to present my first creation as DT member for Robyn’s Fetish. It is Wacky Wednesday and on Wednesdays a freebie digi image is given out to use to your hearts content.

Here is this week's cute freebie - Me and My Bear!

Here is the card I created with the image, inspired by my daughter, who carries around her stuffed Curious George everywhere. :)

The design of the card is taken from a sketch from Mojo Monday:

The cardstock is from Bazzil. The pink with white hearts designer paper is from American Crafts. The multi-colored hearts designer paper and sentiment are from K and Company. The ribbon is from May Arts.

The image was cut using my Nestabilities petitie oval and petitie oval scallop die-cuts. I colored the image with the following Copic colors:

E33, E35, E37, RV32, RV34, E00 and the colorless blender. I also added in some sparkle, using my At You Spica red pen for the girl's hearts on her dress. I used my Sakura glitter pen to decorate the oval scallop surrounding the image.

A "Sketchy" Creation To Choose From

This week’s Penny Black Saturday Challenge is to choose between two sketches DT member Nat created. Or you can do both if you feel like more of a challenge. If only there were more hours in the day, I would do both, but I ended up doing only one. Below are the two sketches to choose from:

Sketch #1

Sketch #2

I chose to do Sketch #2. Below is my entry:

The cardstock is from Bazzil. The designer paper is from My Mind's Eye Penny Lane Collection. The image, sentiment and mice feet are from the PB Micey Day collection, that I won from Guest Designer Debby from PB Saturday Challenge's Christmas Blog Hop. Thank you again Debby! The image was colored with the following Copic colors:

E33, Y17, R59, RV32 and the colorless blender.

The image was cut using my Nestie small circle and circle scallop die cuts. The sentiment was also cut with my Nestie small petite oval and oval scallop. I also sponged on some Versa Color sand beige ink on the image and sentiment. I used my Sakura glitter pen to add some glitter to the image.

I also added in some dew drops from The Robin's Nest.

Happy New Year!

This week’s Penny Black Saturday Challenge is to make something in celebration of the New Year! Because I have been recovering from a cold, I threw a card together last night for this challenge. Below is my entry:

Brown and yellow (Hollywood) cardstock is from Bazzil. I forgot who made the designer paper - got it in December for Christmas projects. I distressed the paper using Versa Color bark ink.

The PB image is from their Bubbly collection, which I noticed a lot of the DT members used a couple of images from that collection - so cute! I colored the image with the following Copic colors:

C5, E33, RV32, Y17, BV23 and the colorless blender

The sentiment is from Hero Arts's All Occasion stamp set.

I also sponged on some ink in the background with Versa Color sand beige. The image was cut out with my Nestie petitie small scallop oval die-cuts.

I used my Martha Stewart scallop punch for the yellow cardstock. The brown woven ribbon is from May Arts.

Prince "Charming"

Started off the New Year with a bad cold from my poor daughter. We are both recovering slowly, but unfortunately got me in the "flu blues." I was able to complete my entry for two challenges:

1) La-La Land Crafts Challenge #19 - "How Charming" - Use charms in the entry

2) Copic Colour Challenge #45 - Below are the colors to use:

Below is my entry:

I LOVE the new Hero Arts stamps! I thought this one that I used for my entry was appropriate.

The cute frog, castle, "charming" prince and sentiment are from Hero Arts Prince Charming stamp set. I used the following Copic colors for the frog, castle and the prince:

YG03, BV04 (in place of CCC color BV02), C3, C5, E39, E00, E33, YR23 and the colorless blender. I also used my At You Spica gold pen for the crowns and the clear pen for the prince's shoulder pads.

The castle was dabbed with some Versa Color sky blue ink. I also used Versa Color Bark to distress the edges of the designer paper. I used my Marvy Uchida corner puncher to punch the corners.

The yellow cardstock is from Bazzil. The brown cardstock is from Wassau. The designer paper is from My Mind's Eye. The gold eyelets are from Making Memories. The gold crown charm the prince is holding is from my stash.
