Another Red, White and Blue Creation!

Happy 4th of July!  Hope you are enjoying the day!

This week's Penny Black Saturday Challenge is to use the colors red, white and blue!  So appropriate for celebrating 4th of July.  This was a pretty easy challenge, as I still had some paper left over from my 4th of July projects, but couldn't decide on which Penny Black image to use. :)

Here is my card for the challenge using the cute kitty with balloons from the PB Bubbly set.

Supplies:
Red and blue Bazzil cardstock
Designer paper from Scenic Route
Sentiment from Best Crafts designer paper
May Arts ribbon
Corners cut from my EK Success punch
PB image cut, usiing my Nestabilities petitie oval and petitie oval scallop die-cuts, glittered with Sakura glitter pen and colored with Copics W3, R20, R35 and B28.  Also used At You Spica pens gold, red and sky blue for the balloons

"Check" It Out - Two Challenges

I am combining two challenges, which are pretty fun.  I participated in the Penny Black Saturday Challenge and Mojo Mondays.

For this week's Penny Black Saturday Challenge, the challenge is "check it out."  Creation should have something with checkard prints such as paper or ribbon.

Here is the sketch I used for this week's Mojo Monday's challenge:

Here is my card for both challenges:

Cardstock is from Bazzil.  Designer paper is from Basic Grey's new collection kioshi.  The image is from Penny Black's In The Garden collection.  Ribbon is from May Arts.  The pearls are from my stash.

The image was cut, using my Nestabilities petitie oval and petite oval scallop.  I used my Sakura glitter pen to add some sparkle to the frame of the image. I colored the image with the following Copic colors:

C5, R20, Y3, Y11, Y15, R37 and the colorless blender

I Can't Wait For Spring!

This week's Penny Black Saturday challenge is to make an easel card.  You can use whatever Penny Black stamps/sentiments you want, any colors you want.

I can't wait for spring!  Probably why the card I made for the challenge has a spring theme to it. :)

Here is my card for the challenge:

The red and beige cardstock is from Bazzil.  The designer paper is from My Mind's Eye Quite Contrary collection, my favorite DP!  I chose Penny Black's Toadily collection and colored the cute frog with the following Copic colors:

Y13, Y17 (flower), G94 (frog) and the colorless blender.

For the background, I sponged on some ink from Memento - Dandelion.  The red background was cut, using my Nestabilities petite oval scallop die-cut.  I used my Martha Stewart punch for the border on the front and inside of the card.

The sentiment is also from Penny Black, inked with Memento ladybug ink and cut, using my Nestabilities small circle and small scallop circle die-cuts.

The corners were cut using my Cuttlebug die-cut.  The red gems are from my stash. The felt red and yellow flowers were picked up from my local scrapbook store.

Robyn's Fetish Saturday Challenge - Technique Challenge

It's Saturday and time again for another fun challenge from Robyn's Fetish.  This week's challenge is a technique challenge: anything but a card.

To enter the challenge, create whatever paper craft you like except for a greeting card.  You can use any image you like, but if you have any Robyn's Fetish images or hybrid stickers, show them some love.  If you do use any Robyn's Fetish images, you will be entered into the drawing TWICE this week to win your choice of three Robyn's Fetish images.  Challenge runs from today until Friday, March 12th at 12pm EST. Post a link to your creation here at the challenge blog.

I took a class last year on how to make a matchbox with four drawers and an easel card on top.  I wanted to try to make the same thing, smaller with only one drawer to have for my cousin's birthday. After searching high and low for instructions, I finally was able to make the box.  And the great thing is that it only took one 12x12 sheet of cardstock to make the box.

I present to you: matchbox with easel card:

Click here for the instructions on how to make this fun box.  You will need to scroll down almost to the bottom of the posting.  It's a long one but the directions are short and simple.

Cardstock is from Bazzil.  The designer paper is new from My Mind's Eye Quite Contrary collection.  I love the beautiful colors the paper had, that I bought 2 sheets of each pattern of the collection.  I used Robyn's Fetish image balloons and colored them with the following Copic colors:

R37, Y17 and B12

I also added in some sparkle with my At You Spica pens lipstick, baby blue and orange.

I cut the balloons and Hero Arts sentiment with my Nestabilities petite oval and petite oval scallop die-cuts. The sentiment was inked using Versa Color cardinal ink.  The yellow gems are from Hero Arts as well.  The drawer handle I picked up at my local craft store.

Stop by and see my Design Team's creations as well:

If you haven't checked out the forum, please do!  There are challenges and lots of paper craft discussions going on right now.  Be sure to check out the store for the digi stamps and hybrid stickers.  They are so beautiful.

It's Almost Springtime!

Ah it's almost springtime!  What I really enjoy about springtime is seeing the bright colors that are out there.  This was good inspiration for my entry to two challenges for this week.

1) Penny Black Saturday Challenge - This week's challenge is to use the colors pink, green and yellow in the entry.

2) Copic Colour Challenge - What timing to use these Copic colors in the challenge!

Below is my card I made for both challenges:

The pink cardstock is from Bazzil.  The designer paper is from My Mind's Eye.  I use my Martha Stewart scallop punch for the pink border and added some green ribbon, new from Bazzil.  The pearls are from my stash.  The corners were punched out using my EK Success punch.

The PB image and sentiment is from the Micey Day collection.  The mice were colored with the following Copic colors:

YG00, E35, RV32, G21,  R12 (didn't have R11 for CCC so used this color instead), C3 and the colorless blender

The mice were cut using my Nestabilities label die-cut.  The sentiment was cut using my Nestabilities petite oval and petitie oval scallop.

Robyn's Super Saturday Challenge - Swing Card Technique

It's Saturday and its time once again for Robyn's Super Saturday Challenge.  This week's challenge is to use a technique.  The technique to use is a swing card.  This was a fun challenge to do.  There are many tutorials out there on how to make a swing card.  Here are two of them that are really good:

Splitcoast Stampers - Swing Card

Michelle's Rubber Room - Swing Card (great video and measurement template)

You may use any image that you like, but if you have any Robyn's Fetish (RF) images, show them some love!  Also, if you use any RF images, you will be entered into the drawing TWICE for a chance to win three RF images!

Whoo hoo it's Saturday and its time for Robyn's Fetish Saturday Challenge! This is my first Saturday Challenge for Robyn's Fetish as one of the new design team members! Check out the Wacky Wednesday challenge from this week that I did here.

This week’s Robyn’s Fetish Saturday Challenge is a recipe. I love recipes! Always fun to see what can be done with a few simple things...or something that you have never used before in a creation! Here is the recipe to follow:

2 patterned papers
2 different colors of cardstock
2 ribbons
2 types of sparkle (anything goes from glimmer spray, glitter, bling, etc.)
2 buttons

You can use any image of your choosing, but if you currently own some Robyn's Fetish (RF) images, show them some love.  PLUS if you do use any RF images,  you will be entered into the random drawing TWICE to win!

The winner will receive SIX RF images of your choosing! Check out the shop to see all the designs currently being offered.

Deadline to submit your entry to the challenge blog is Friday, January 29th at 12pm EST and the winner will be announced before next week's new challenge. Please leave a link to your creation in the comments section to be entered to win.

For this challenge, I used the original cupcake image. Reminds me of my friend's daughter's birthday party last month with her whole theme being cupcakes!

Front of card:

The pink and green cardstock are from Bazzil. The designer papers are from My Mind's Eye Abbey Road collection. I used my Martha Stewart scallop punch to make an accent border for the bottom of the card. The gold ribbon is from my stash from last Christmas. The green ribbon is from May Arts. The pink and green buttons are from Basic Grey. The pink and green "bling" squares are from Mark Richards. The photo corners were punched with my EK Success punch.

The cupcake was cut using my Nestabilities large circle and circle scallop with some bling using my Sakura glitter pen. The cupcake was colored with the following Copic colors:

RV13, YG03, E35, and the colorless blender

I tried Stickles fruit punch for the stripes of the candle and eucalyptus for the sprinkles. I liked how they turned out. :) I used my At You Spica gold pen for the candlelight.

 Inside of card:

For the inside of the card, I used the same cardstock and designer paper as the front of the card. I used my Nestabilities petitie oval scallop and petitie oval for the sentiment with my Sakura glitter pen. The sentiment is from Hero Arts, inked with Versa Color Petal Pink.

Also, check out my team's creations and leave some love for them!

Penny Black Saturday Challenge - Blue, Cream and Gold

This week's Penny Black Saturday Challenge is using a color combo: blue, cream and gold. I just bought a new Penny Black stamp and was excited to use it for this challenge.

I went with a CAS (clean and simple) design for this challenge. And I also did not use a single Copic marker, which was kind of nice to take a break from.  Below is my card:

The cream cardstock is from Bazzil.  The designer paper (double-sided) is from cratepaper. The image is PB's mid summer, cut with my Nestabilities Label die-cut.  The image was inked with Tsukineko Encore Honeydew ink and sponged over with Versa Color sand beige ink..  I used my Martha Stewart's scallop punch for the blue border. The ribbon is from May Arts.  The photo corners were punched with my EK Success punch.  The stick-on pearls are from my stash.

Thanks for stopping by!

A "Sketchy" Creation To Choose From

This week’s Penny Black Saturday Challenge is to choose between two sketches DT member Nat created. Or you can do both if you feel like more of a challenge. If only there were more hours in the day, I would do both, but I ended up doing only one. Below are the two sketches to choose from:

Sketch #1

Sketch #2

I chose to do Sketch #2. Below is my entry:

The cardstock is from Bazzil. The designer paper is from My Mind's Eye Penny Lane Collection. The image, sentiment and mice feet are from the PB Micey Day collection, that I won from Guest Designer Debby from PB Saturday Challenge's Christmas Blog Hop. Thank you again Debby! The image was colored with the following Copic colors:

E33, Y17, R59, RV32 and the colorless blender.

The image was cut using my Nestie small circle and circle scallop die cuts. The sentiment was also cut with my Nestie small petite oval and oval scallop. I also sponged on some Versa Color sand beige ink on the image and sentiment. I used my Sakura glitter pen to add some glitter to the image.

I also added in some dew drops from The Robin's Nest.

Thanks for stopping by!
