Friends Forever

This week’s Copic Colour Challenge has some bright colors to work with. Here are the colors and my entry:

One design I haven't made is a "friends" themed card. I used Rosie with Cat from La-La Land Crafts. I colored Rosie and the cat using the challenge colors and also these colors:

G94, E33, E35, C3, RV13, and the colorless blender

The cardstock, ric rack ribbon, woven ribbon and pearls are from my stash. The background paper is from My Mind's Eye. The flowers are from Prima. The "friends" sentiment is from We R Memory Keepers (rub on and glitter flock). I really liked working with these two embellishments and will use them more with my creations.

Paper Piecing Fun!

This week’s La La Land’s Weekly Wednesday Challenge is paper piecing! I haven't done a lot of paper piecing with my designs, so this challenge was a good opportunity to try it. Boy was it a challenge! Here is my entry:

Meet Pumpkin La-La! I paper pieced her overalls and shirt, using paper from American Crafts. I used the following Copic colors to color her:

YR04 and G94 (for the pumpkin), E09, B12, E00, RV02, E39 and the colorless blender

The fence is from C.C. Designs Sugarplum Autumn designs set. I colored the fence using a blend of E33 and E35 and the grass YG99. The sentiment is also from that set.

Cardstock for the card and sentiment is from my stash. The green background paper is from Bazzil. The polka dot paper is from Bo Bunny. The eyelets are from my stash. The two brown flowers are from Doodads. I used Memento's Rich Cocoa ink to distress the card.

All things with lace and pearls

This week's Penny Black Saturday Challenge is to create something with lace and pearls. Such a pretty combination, that I had to do something with a romantic theme to it.

Below is my entry:

The cardstock, washi paper and the pink flower vine are from my personal stash. I used PB's Every Which Way critters. I used the following Copic colors for the critters:

E37, RV02, E00, colorless blender, RV02, RV13, RV32 and RV34.

The lace is from Creative Imaginations. The heart shape and white pearls are from Hero Arts. The die-cut sentiment is from Cricut's Lyrical Letters cartridge, which I added some glitter from my Sakura glitter pen. I bought the silver double heart charm from my local scrapbook store.

Pick of the Patch

Been a busy week for me...so much to do so little time. I did have a chance to do my quick entry for Copic Colour Challenge. Below are the colors to use for the challenge and my entry:

I had all the colors except for YR68 so I used YR23 instead.

I used my C.C Designs Sugarplums Autumn Trevor image and sentiment for the card. Trevor was colored with the challenge colors plus YR23, E00, E35, E37 and B45. The cardstock is from my personal stash. The background paper is from Bo Bunny. The brads are from my personal stash. For the sentiment, I used my Nestabilities small and scallop rectangle.

Ribbons, brads and pearls oh my!

First of all, I want to thank Irina and the DT from La-La Land Crafts for choosing me as one of the winners of last week's challenge - distressing! It was great to try a new technique and get recognition for it. I really appreciate their comments, as well as those from people who took a peek at my card. Click here to see the card I created that landed me in a tie for third place!

Now on to this week’s La-La Land’s challenge!

This week's challenge is all about embellishments. Use three of your favorite embellishments in your entry.

I have sooo many embellishments in stock. From ribbon to brads, I pretty much take up half of my workspace storing those items. It was good to use some of my embellishments for the challenge. Below is my entry:

Meet Fairy La-La! I had so much fun coloring her! Here are the Copic colors I used:

BV00 and BV04 - wings
BV04, BV08 - hair
B12 - dress, shoes, Fairy La-La's eyes
E00, RV02 - face
Y17 and At You Spica gold - star on wand

I used some pop-up dots to stick her to the card.

The 5.5x5.5 card I made was using black cardstock from my stash, Bazzil Bling purple cardstock and some washi paper that I have a ton of. Purple brads are from my stash. The adhesive black ribbon is from Creative Imaginations. The pearls are from Hero Arts.

I LOOOOVE the window die cut my co-worker cut, using her Cricut machine. This window die-cut is from the Lyrical Letters cartridge. I didn't want to get the cartridge at first because I have so many font cartridges. But after my co-worker showed me the booklet with all the different shapes the cartridge also featured, I had to have it. :)

Enjoying Life Within A Sketch

This week's Penny Black Saturday Challenge was using one of the DT member's sketches. Domi made such a wonderful and challenging sketch that it took me a long time to figure out where to start! Below is the sketch and my entry:

All of the cardstock, background paper, buttons, adhesive borders and rub-ons were from Basic Grey's Marrakech collection. Cardstock and background paper were distressed with Memento Rich Cocoa ink. Circles were cut using my Nestie large circle and large circle scallop dies. I used PB's Teddy and Company image, coloring with the following Copic markers:

E57, YG23, BV00, R35, Y17, B45, E33 with the colorless blender

The flower is from Prima. The eyelets and twine are from my personal stash.

Bright, bold and distressing!

Hehehe...trying to come up with titles for my blogs lately has been opening up my creative side a little more...

What can you guess I am creating for this week? Something bright, bold with a dash of something distressed!

I am combining challenges again for La-La Land Crafts and Copic Colour Challenge. Below are this week's to use for the challenge:

I don't have R29 so I am using R35 instead.

Here is my entry for this week:

Here is Rosie with her cute cat. She was colored with the challenge colors plus E33,E00, YG63 and E57. The cat was colored with C5 with the colorless blender and RV02.

The cardstock is from Worldwin Colormates (Dark Spring Green). The background paper is from Bo Bunny. The eyelets are from my old stash of eyelets. The cream colored adhesive ribbon is from Creative Imaginations.

For the first time, I am using Tim Holtz's products, which I have had for awhile but was afraid to use them. It wasn't until Jane Matsumoto (DT Coordinator for La-La Land Crafts) had a tutorial on how to use Tim Holtz's products that I wanted to give it a shot. Check out her tutorial here on her creation of a bookmark using Tim's products. Thanks Jane for the wonderful tutorial!

I used Tim Holtz's tea dye distress ink for the edges of the cardstock, background paper and background for Rosie and the cat. I used one of Tim's floret masks, using the tea dye ink and added some of his foliage.

Now to play around more with Tim's products. :)

Hearts Desire

This week's Penny Black Saturday Challenge is all about hearts and love...my favorite sentiment. :) Below is my entry:

The critters are from the PB stamp set Every Which Way. I colored the critters using Copics R37, YG67 and E35. The cardstock paper is the last I have of the My Mind's Eye Freebird collection. All of the other paper and the gemstones are from my old stash.

Happy Fall!

Wow what a busy weekend! Even three-day weekends go by fast! Spent most of it pricing old scrapbooking materials I don't use anymore to sell at my local store's flea market next week. It was nice to get rid of stuff I don't use anymore but boy, it took awhile to sort and price everything!

Anyways, I was able to get to a couple of challenges. This one is for Copic Colour Challenge #29. Below are the colors to use for the week:

I had all the colors except for YG97 so I used YG99 instead. Beautiful colors! Below is my entry:

I was so happy to finally use my C.C. Designs Autumn Sugarplum stamp set! I love it soooo much! I used the challenge colors plus YR23, YG99, E07 and the colorless blender. Cardstock is from my stash. I used my Cuttlebug swiss dots for the embossing of the card. Background paper is from Graphic 45's Playtimes Past - Jack and Jill design with Memento's Potter's Clay ink to rub on the edge of the paper. The sentiment was cut using my Nesties petite oval and petite oval scallop. Ribbon is from my stash.
