Last Christmas Card for 2009

As the saying goes: "All good things must come to an end." Hence, this week’s Penny Black Saturday Challenge will be the last time I will be creating a Christmas card for 2009. Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year and I am always sad when the holiday is over.

Penny Black Saturday Challenge is to use Christmas charms. Surprisingly, also being a jewelry maker, I don't own a lot of charms, particularly Christmas charms. So off I went to my local bead store and it was a good day to go. Their charms were half off! I picked up a bunch to have for next year, including the cute red Santa hat I used for my entry. :)

Below is my entry. I kept it on the CAS (clean and simple) side:

Red cardstock is from Bazzil. Designer paper is from Reminisce. The cute critter and sentiment are from PB's The Wonder collection. I colored the critter using the following Copic colors:

E00, C3, R37, R20, Y17, and the colorless blender

I also used the At You Spica garnet, lipstick and lemon pens, as well as my Sakura glitter pen for the critter and the decoration around the critter and sentiment.

I used my Nestabilities Label Two for the critter and the petite scallop oval for the sentiment. The sentiment was colored with Tsukineko's honeydew ink. The gold nailheads on the corner of the card are from my stash.

Happy New Year! Looking forward to more challenges from Penny Black Saturday Challenge in 2010.

Hugs,

Great Friends

This week’s Copic Colour Challenge was a fun play on their three chosen colors. When I first saw the colors, I knew instantly what I wanted to do. Below are the colors for the challenge:

Below is my entry:

I LOVE the new Hero Arts 2010 line of stamps! The girl and sentiment I used are from Hero Arts's Sweet Wonderful You set. The girl was colored with the following Copic colors:

BG05, Y15 (challenge colors), E57 as substitute for E47, E00, R20 and the colorless blender. I also added some orange stick-on pearls from my stash.

The yellow and brown cardstock is from Bazzil. The designer paper is from My Mind's Eye. The sentiment was cut, using my Nestabilities petite oval and petite scallop oval shapes with some glitter from my Sakura glitter pen. The corners were cut, using my Cuttlebug. The yellow woven ribbon is from May Arts.

Anything But A Card

I am participating in this week's La-La Land Crafts challenge - Anything But A Card. Remember those treat bags I made for my daughter's teachers? I finished them last week and handed them out to them. The teachers loved them! It is VERY simple with a simple theme.

Below is my entry:

Jenn Balcer from Split Coast Stampers created a 2-5-7-10 box template that only needs one 8.5" x 11" piece of cardstock! Click here to see the tutorial.

Cardstock is from Bazzil. The snowflake stamp is from Amuse, stamped using Versa Color white ink. I used my Cricut machine with my Joys of the Season cartridge to make the red ornament and sentiment. The ribbon is from my stash.

Happy Holidays!

Creating Out of the Box

Can't believe how fast December is flying by! For this week, I was able to do two of my challenges. Both of them were fun, but one was definitely challenging.

Below are the two challenges I participated in:

1) La-La Land Crafts Wednesday Challenge - Pink and Green! Entry must have pink and green as the two main colors. Other colors are fine to use.

2) Magnolia-licious Highlites December DT Sketch - Entry must be in a different shape, not a square or rectangle.

Here is my entry:

Didn't I tell you it was a challenge? :)

The pink and green cardstock is from Bazzil. I cut both pieces using my Cricut machine with the Joys of the Season cartridge. The designer paper is from Basic Grey's Eskimo Kisses collection, also cut from my Cricut cartridge. Tilda was colored with the following Copic colors:

E00, E33, E35, RV13, and R20

I also used my At You Spica blossom pen to color in Tilda's dress, stockings and hair ribbon.

Hopefully I can find my good X-Acto knive. The one I used was an old one and unfortunately didn't cut Tilda the way I wanted.

Pearls and the pink twine were from my stash.

Thanks for stopping by!

The Holidays In Pink

I didn't think I could do my three weekly challenges this week. With my office's Christmas lunch coming up and making 17 mini cakes plus working on my daughter's teacher's treat boxes (19 of those!) for Christmas, I am running on full steam. I took a look at the three challenges and was glad I could incorporate all of them into one entry.

Below are the three challenges for the week:

1) Penny Black Saturday Challenge - Christmas For The Girls. Recently there was a challenge to make something for the guys. The DT didn't want to leave out the girls! :)

2) Copic Colour Challenge - Below are the colors to use:

3) La-La Land Crafts Wednesday Challenge - Buttons, Buttons, Buttons! Include at least one button in your entry.

Below is my entry:

The bright pink cardstock is from Bazzil from their "Bling" collection. The soft pink cardstock was from a store I visit often called Paper Source. The designer paper is from Basic Grey's Eskimo Kisses collection. The corners were made using my Cuttlebug die-cut with stick-on pearls from my stash. The sentiment was made with my Cricut machine, using the "Joys of the Season" cartridge. The button flowers are from Sassafras. The PB critter is from The Wonder collection, colored with the following Copic colors:

Copic Challenge colors (YG03, YR04, RV06), RV13, Y38, YR23, R35, R37, RV32, E00 and the colorless blender. I also added some sparkle with my At You Spica pens red pink and orange.

I cut the PB critter with my Nestabilities petite oval and petite oval scallop shapes. I paper pierced the scallop.

As soon as I finish the mock of one of my daughter's teacher's treat boxes, I will post it. :)

Thanks for stopping by!
